Johnathan Dunn, M.S.Ed., LCPC
Therapist and Owner
Hi there! My name is John. I have previous experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds and I have previously worked in a variety of different settings. In my therapeutic work, I focus on acceptance and compassion, as these things are paramount to growth. My approach to therapy revolves around supporting you as you build a healthier image of yourself, as well as helping you to establish and maintain more positive relationships in your life. I believe in a strength-based approach, and I want to help you to identify your best qualities and use them to their fullest advantage. I’m here to support you, so come take that first step.

Yossarian ‘Yoyo’, Dunn
Therapy Cat
Yoyo was born in May of 2019 and found his way to Tails Humane Society in Dekalb in the following winter of that year. Yoyo was adopted by John in February 2020 and has served as his trusty therapy sidekick ever since. Yoyo will often make appearances during sessions, including popping up onto John’s lap and occasionally meowing from the floor below (don’t worry, he’s obliged to follow HIPPA-compliant confidentiality procedures as well). Yoyo’s full name, Yossarian, is given in reference to the 1961 novel Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.
